Fashion and Design at MaximiliansForum in 2012

2012’s series of arts projects started in March with two performance-based events dealing with contemporary jewellery, initiated by Galerie Biro in Munich and the Finnish jewellery artist Mia Maljojoki. In April, a student collective who met at Akademie der Bildenden Künste showed an events programme in an elaborate room installation portraying the processes leading to the formation of fashion and trends. In May, Munich’s young fashion label SCHAAF moved their workshop to MaximiliansForum and presented their current fashion line in an installation by Le Château En Couleur and MUSCLEBEAVER. In June, just before the summer break, the textile artist Stephanie Müller and the painter Klaus Erich Dietl host “The Fabric”, an artistic subversive laboratory for symposia, workshops and other projects. Munich’s fashion and design scene is discussed in a manifold programme in September, including its potential and chances. Finally, MaximiliansForum is again transformed into the festival centre for "FotoDoks", Germany’s only festival for current documentary photography, who have chosen Great Britain to be their this year’s partner nation.
